Rooftop Solar Project
UAJA is in the process of developing a rooftop solar financing program to enable property owners in the municipalities served by UAJA to have solar panels installed economically. This is a first of its kind program, which means that ironing out the legal questions is taking some time. The Pennsylvania Municipalities Authorities Act, which governs all municipal authorities including UAJA, was written in 1935. Rooftop solar projects were not anticipated back then, which makes things a little more difficult. UAJA is working through it, and we are confident that a viable program can be presented to the local municipalities for consideration.
UAJA will proceed with the program when the legal questions have been addressed, and the local municipalities give UAJA the OK to proceed.
